The weirdest dream... yet

Well, as the title says, its the weirdest dream that I have had so far. It starts out with what seems like a 2v2 Starcraft 2 game, and I was playing it. As my sadistic brain would always do to me, I had to be playing my worst race ever, Zerg. But then again, my brain refuses to lose as well, so therefore, in that dream, it had me crushing my opponents. At that time, I was just going with the flow. After all, it is a win right? Even in a dream. Heh..

Then suddenly, before the game even ended, I find myself in some sort of a military base. Reason I say its a military base is because I was facing some guy in military uniform, and judging by the number of medals, I would say he is one of the higher ups. And for some reason, he was talking to me. Apparently I understood as well, because he seems pleased I guess when talking to me. So I guess I'm in the army then.. what country, don't ask, cause I myself have no idea.

After that, everything started to warp, and I find myself beside Harry Potter and a girl that I don't know, and we were all running. Running from what you may ask, well, I seriously have no idea, because when I looked behind, it was a big cloud of smoke, but it wasn't black in colour. It was instead a bright orange colour, like the colour of flames, and it was rushing towards us. So naturally, we ran like hell from that big cloud of smoke. I still have my common sense with me somehow at that time. So we ran and ran and jumped over a big rock and hid behind in, much in the Mulan 1 avalanche scene. Then, I learned that me and Harry (Wa, call his name like nothing only) were supposed to protect this girl and therefore was sent to the past. Reminds you of Trans.. oh wait, not that one.. the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it.. oh ya, Terminator. (Had to Google it =Þ)

So we protected her, she's fine, so we returned to base, and my next mission is to prevent a baby from dying. So anti-climatic right? Well yeah, that's how my brain in the dream compartment works. So once again, I travelled back in time (take that Einstein!) together with another girl as my partner. Strangely enough, her face looks like Tavia Yeung, Hong Kong actress. Fine brain, have it your way. How we managed to save the baby, I have no idea whatsoever because next thing I know, I'm in front of a clinic, and I see that my friend Jeanne is there, as a nurse. And apparently the baby is hers, because I was motioning to her that I have her baby. She looked dumbfounded, which is normal since its freaky as to why I have her baby. I passed her the baby, she cried like hell. Heck, I don't even know how my brain can give me the image of her crying as she never cried in front of me but hey, its a freaky brain, can't say much about it.

Right there and then, I woke up. So there ya go, my weirdest dream yet. Enjoy if you can stomach the absurdness of all this. =D

AhChiu!

These days I've been sneezing a lot. Probably cause of the dust in my room, maybe due to the weather, I don't know. But it does provide a lot of opportunities to try out new ways to sneeze. Last time, I used to sneeze loudly, as loud as you can imagine, and that would freak everyone out. Sometimes, I would feel a sneeze coming on and would make the gesture to tell my friends to stay back, and they stayed way way back, but in the end, the sneeze never came and all were disappointed. Then after that, my sneeze transformed into a silent one, where my mouth never opens and so the sneeze is forced to go back inside and so all that people on the outside hear is "heek". But I find that way to be too irritating for the throat. So up until now, my sneezes has always been a combination of the first and second sneeze, the sneeze comes out, but my mouth closes, not too tightly and so the sneeze is forced through the lips and the sneeze eventually becomes something like a motorboat.

Well today, I tried to sneeze with my mouth wide open and the result wasn't that good. I had to sneeze that way because my nose was blocked and the feeling of it coming out of my nose would have rendered my nose useless for the next few minutes, in my opinion anyway. So.. the sneeze came out and everything splattered, luckily, it was only on my hand as I have manners and covered my mouth =D. So I don't think I'll be going to do that again. In the mean time, I have yet to try sneezing with my eyes open, I heard it is impossible to do but I still wanna try it. Who knows, maybe my eyes will pop out? Heh...

Phooey

Phooey! Just came back from Genting and the water tank up in the roof greeted us, sort of. Water dripped from the roof down the stairs and on the floor. The house's water tank must have missed us so much that it started to cry. Luckily didn't cry on my LOTR book, if not my turn to cry pulak. Apparently something about the tank's washer(?) spoiled or something and therefore cannot stop the flow of water. Still waiting for the person to come and have a look and repair it. But one thing that I was able to do while mopping up the puddle of water, I got to shuffle! *cue LMFAO music* "everyday I'm shuffling"

Meh, just kidding. nothing much damaged from the water leak, except maybe the top of the stairs. Heh, that's good.

Genting!!

Whee, just came back from Genting (and KL). I know this post is super-duper late and I don't have any excuses for that. Reason why I'm writing about this Genting trip is because it is unlike any of the previous trips that I've been to. I can now officially announce that I have been to, and played at the casino. Woot woot!

Yes its true! Yours truly has touched the slot machines in Genting, though I don't see it being an often thing in the near future. Its cause I am the 'kiasu' type, so most probably I won't be playing much. But it is interesting to see my parents play the slots. Dad has a 'strategy' of beating the odds, while mum is the 'if it is to be, it will be' type. So far, Ah Pa's strat seems to be working.

Also, Ah Pa and Ah Mi was talking about 'Zorro' every time we were up in Genting last time, so I was interested in this 'Zorro'. Although I did not see Ah Mi play 'Zorro' (its Ah Mi's favourite apparently), I did get to see Ah Mi play 'Penguins'. It was so interesting. The way the penguins jump here and there and also the random features that would appear when Ah Mi was playing was very very cute. Heh. Once in a while, Ah Mi would tap the glass to 'call' the penguin to give more random features too. Nice to see mum play like that, and I now know why Ah Mi likes to play in the casino. As for Ah Pa, he also enjoys himself. Ah Pa constantly says, he plays to win, and win he does.

So when the day ends, both Mum and Dad comes home happy. Dad won money, Mum got to relax a lil. As for me, well, I can't say too much. After all, I mostly just watched after I gotten through my family's rite of passage, as Sa Ee puts it. Heh.

I am A+

Yesterday, I went to donate blood!! Hooray, thus the title (cause I dunno what other title to put already)
And I got a whole bunch of goodies!!
1. Tiger biscuit
2. Milo 3-in-1 Fuze
3. Super Cereal Drink (Ah Jie like wan, according to mum)
4. Quaker Oats
5. Apollo Wafer Biscuit
6. One bottle (300ml) Chrysanthenum tea
7. Eu Yan Sang chicken essence
That's from the blood donation drive. I also got a new pair of sunglasses from some optometry shop.
All in all, a good haul, if compared to last time when Ah Mi or Ah Pa donated blood, one apple and one biscuit with tea to drink. Heh~

Well, the reason I decided to write about this is because for me, something big happen. I voluntarily let myself be poked by a needle. Needless to say, I have a fear of needles. According to Wikipedia, I have trypanophobia. It started when the doctor tried to take my blood for a blood test last time, poke here poke there. All because I fat and cannot find vein. LOL. So let this be a lesson to all the fat folks, before you eat until so fat, remember to take permanent marker and draw your veins on your body first! Then only when taking blood, the doctor will know where your vein is! Hah, joking only. I know that won't work. *damnit*

So now, let's see what other fears that I have...
1. Heights, definitely, albeit under certain conditions.
2. ....................................

Just heights? Nah, its just that I can't think of anymore, for now. But as for height, I might have faced it a little when I was in Mexico. Jumping into the cenote sure took me a while and a whole lot of me, so I must say that's a good thing. *pats self on the back*

Woo... looks like I've written a lot. (by my standards at least =P) So I'll stop now.

After some time, its good to write something

Its been a while since I wrote anything here *brushes off cobwebs* so thought I might wanna write about most of the stuff that happened in the past month or so, if I can remember it correctly. Also this is mostly because somebody *ahem* mom *ahem* is asking me to blog. Nothing much happened recently, except for a trip to sugar shack. Went there for dinner, look at all the maple trees, usual stuff that you do when you go somewhere to sightsee. But the food there is great, at least for me, cause its all pork, egg, pork, egg, pork, egg..~~

A sample of the food served there. There's pig lard, ham, bacon, potatoes and egg souffle.

The food is nice in the sense that I don't usually eat these kind of things. The egg souffle is something new to me and I liked it cause its soft. Its like eating a cake, but in the back of your mind, you know its eggs. Yummy. The item that I was looking most forward to was the pig lard, because before this, a friend of mine *cough* Constance *cough* asked me to use google translate to translate its french name. So out of curiosity, I did and the result was... ear eff-ing. That took me totally by surprise and so I was wondering what it was before the meal.

But the highlight of the meal for me is most definitely the dessert, pictured below.

Some kind of pie. I forgot the name, but it is truly delightful to eat this. Don't mind the pie, its here just to steal some glory from the pie and thus lying in the shadows.

The pie.. is so good! The filling reminded me of kaya. Most people say that its sweet, but to me its just the right amount. I know I know, diabetes warning... but still.. its too good for me to pass it up. There was another dessert but I didn't really like it that much because I think its a bit too.. 'zai'. Stuffed? I'm not sure about the english equivalent. Oh and I forgot to add, all the foods above, you have maple syrup to cover it in, although personally, I think its better without the maple syrup.

Well, with the exams around, this is as much as I can write. By the way,
Happy Birthday Ah Pa and Ah Ko!!! :)

Toronto~~

Last week, I went to Toronto. It was my designated chill week since it was the reading week for McGill University as well as University of Toronto. And indeed a chill week it was. Basically, I went there, relax and hang around buddies that I haven't hang since... Taylors? Wow, 3 years. Being back with them sure brings back a lot of nostalgic feelings. For one thing, there's this koala that will always wanna do inappropriate things  try and hug me. Heh. Also had a Ridzuan condo A307 master bedroom reunion, me, KP and Wilson. Being with those two, wallet will open like the floodgates of hell during the the 7th month but luckily I practised restraint (restraint.. kononnya =P) Bought another pair of nike shoes and a nike T-shirt. What to do, nike shop in Toronto had 50% off everything. =D

Toronto, met up with the almost non-existent hippo(Once!) Damn that guy really slim dy. Haiz...
Also met Alex, still as optimistic as ever apparently.
And Kenneth... suddenly so freaking fat =P
Met the girls in Toronto too, prettier but still bulliable

Made 'siu bak' and fried ice cream in Toronto too! 'Siu bak' was too oily once again. My cooking problem is always the oilyness... too much oil. Haih. Fried ice cream was okay I guess, but didn't make enough for everyone, so siapa cepat, dia dapat. Hahahaha~~

Also, although the reading week is way pass the CNY period, we still played mahjong into the wee wee hours of the morning. Not everyday la of course, but still... and I learnt how to play mahjong, with points and all that in Toronto. Got a 'cheng yat sik' one time, happy dy. Hehehehe

Well, that's all that I did in Toronto, during my Reading Week. Ironic isn't it, that it is the reading week but I did not do any reading whatsoever =D

Clubbing

Yup, I tried Montreal's night life. And to be honest, its not my kind of thing. Not my cup of tea. No siree.

The idea of going out for a drink is not new to me, in fact, I enjoy it.
The idea of going out to dance in a club is new to me, but I have a feeling that I will not enjoy it.
So... the idea of going out for a drink and dancing, it combines two things, a plus and a minus. So I thought why not right?

Turns out, the minus overweighs the plus by a mile. It wasn't that enjoyable after all. Well, I'll just say why I don't like it, then judge me as you will

The night started out fine. Lining up in front of the club in the winter was fine since we had on jackets and stuff, pity the ladies though, dress only. It was fun to watch the ladies shiver in the cold winter night. And then, once I got in, I found myself standing in a dimly lit place, the norm for clubs. I was fine with that. Turns out, we were a lil too early, nobody was there yet. So we ordered drinks and waited for people to come. Until then, it was still fine. Then people started coming, and the music started. Oh god, that's when things took a turn for the bad, the music was too loud for my preference, way louder than what I had expected. The bass was booming so loud that my chest felt like it was about to explode any time soon. Then of course there's the dancing. I didn't dance much, mind you. I know I have two left feet. At that time, I was thinking, what the hell is and introvert like myself doing in a club?

So in the club, I went to doing the thing I enjoy doing when I have nothing in common with the crowd. People watching. There was a whole lot of people. Everybody was rubbing everything with everybody, which I know is something normal out here but I'm still not used to it. I don't know whether you would call this a culture shock or not, I'm just not used to it. I'm not disgusted or anything, just not used to seeing it. My rational mind was saying, its alright la, these people might be friends, who knows right? And so, the rubbing (they call it grinding for some reason) continued on and on and I watched as the guy was getting a lil touchy. Everybody was a lil high and feelings of lust were very apparent. But the juiciest part of the night was when the guy and the girl started going at it, and to those that don't understand the meaning, they were slobbering all over each other. Now that's a show for everyone to see I'll bet. Was kinda weird to see a whole bunch of people crowding around two people making out but hey, what the heck right? Haha... Could be friends (with benefits ^^) or strangers.

With the music continuing, a pair making out, and others grinding anybody and everybody, that was when I decided that it would be the last time I went to a club, for anything. This occasion was apparently for charity, something about helping Pakistan and it was organized by UNICEF McGill, with my friend being one of the execs. That's why I went. It was a not so good experience, I wouldn't classify it as a downright bad experience but it wasn't good either. Either way, I can honestly say, I experienced Montreal's night life at least once and I definitely hated it.

Continuation of the Dream Journal

Yes, dreams #3 and #4 came about during and after my Mexico trip respectively. I was too lazy to blog about them until recently I have the STBS (Short Term Blogging Spirit). So here it goes:

Dream #3
The dream started out in a dark corridor. I heard water dripping. I thought I was underground, might be in the sewers for all I know, but the ground was dry. Weird...

Anyway, I was looking for a way out of there when I heard the sound of mice. Chit chit chit... and they were running towards me. I panicked and started running, running as fast as I could. But then I tripped and fell, face down, and soon after, the rats were all on top of me. As a last resort, I sort of jumped, worm-style.

That's when I woke up, on the bed in a hotel in Chichen-Itza, Mexico. Luckily for me and unluckily for the two guys sleeping next to me, since I slept in between them that night, I gave them quite a shock. Imagine... an overweight guy suddenly jumping while sleeping, and landing back on the bed, creating shockwaves on the bed. Hehehehe...

Dream #4
Dream #4 came when I first came back from Mexico. My dream started out with me in a classroom. Around me were all these student also, but they were all looking very gloomy and sad. I didn't know why until I went out of the classroom. If you thought that there was a lecture going on, nope, there's none. And for your information, in my dream, there were no lectures. It was more of a self study thing I think. Nevertheless, I went out of the classroom and eventually found the computer room. The room was a tiny room with a lot of computers, but hardly any space. And there was a security guard there. Kinda makes you wonder, what is a security guard doing at a computer room. Protecting those computers?

Turns out, the security guard is there to make sure we don't use the computer except for academic purposes. No Facebook, no email, just Google and the likes. And there was also a time limit, one hour. After the hour, the security guard will shoo you away. For some reason, when I was in there, I had a notebook on the table, but the security guard came and took my notebook. He took it and began to read its contents, which even I don't know. When I was dreaming this, I kept thinking, I need to take notes in that book, when is he giving it back? Grr... When he was finished, he told me, "Time's up, let's go". HAR?!? Never mind...

After that, I decided to leave campus and go out for a walk, don't know why, just walked. When I stepped out, I saw that the whole campus is surrounded by a jungle, basically, we're in a very very very rural university. There's a small path connecting the university to the main road, which makes me wonder how I got to know of this place in the first place. Anyway, as I was dreaming, apparently I was hungry because the next second I know, I was in a hawker centre, eating wan tan mee. I must have been itching to eat wan tan mee for a long time without noticing. Then there was the walk back to the campus after the meal, which kinda reminds me of the road in Pokok Assam, on the way to Ah Kong's house.

After a while, I find myself in the midst of a ceremony, a graduation ceremony. Not mine, but older students. I looked at the stage and saw a comedy act between two guys, one guy making a lame statement and the other guy hitting him with a paper fan. Kinda like those comedy acts in Japanese anime. After that, it was time for the handing of the scrolls, and I saw just two, that's right, two people, going up, graduating. Now that kinda shocked me a little because the graduation hall was packed, almost 300 people I would presume. But only 2 people got the paper. Sure is kinda weird to have almost 300 people looking at 2 people graduating but still, my dreams are always weird. Heh. Suddenly, I heard a bell ring, like those in secondary school last time. That was when I suddenly woke up.

Kinda bizzare to have two totally unrelated dreams in a span of one week. One involving escaping from mice and another involving some weird university life. The mice dream, I know where it came from, because that night, the movie, "The Green Mile" was on the television and there was a scene where a mouse was killed, being stepped on. The mice was flat and there was blood around it. So that dream might come from that scene. As for the weird university life dream, I still have no idea where that dream came from. Still thinking.. Heh

Mexico!!!

Yesh! I went, and came back during my one and half winter break there. Feel so good to leave the cold snowy winter in Montreal and enjoy the sun in Mexico. Reason for going to Mexico is... one, to run away from winter (main reason); two, most people were planning South America; three, ... well actually, there's only two. Was hoping for a three, cause the old saying is good things come in threes isn't it? Or is it twos? Oh well, I have two, so let's just leave it at that.

A one week trip to Mexico, one week of beaches, ruins, sun, rain (not snow.. lol), erm.. what else? Oh ya, food. Hehehehe... one week of seafood and tacos!
Heh, after mentioning food sure must show pic la. Seafood buffet, 1st meal

Of course, not everything in Mexico is about the food. There's also places to see, like downtown Mexico, nothing very interesting there actually.. lol, that's why there isn't any pictures. There's also sandy beaches,
Yes, that's me, look at the hairdo, some say its Wolverine's, some say its Bezita from DragonBall. You be the judge.

Most of the beaches in Cancun are privated, owned by the hotels that lines up by the beach, and the only way to access it is through it. So even though the beach is public, the way to access those beaches require one to trespass into private property, so basically, we're pretty screwed if we wanna go to the beach. Thankfully, some hotels' security ain't that bad and we were able to sneak into the beaches and sneak out.

Also, apparently tequila is famous in Mexico, don't ask me why, they just are. And their favourite beer is Corona, light beer, a lil too gassy for me. And of course, if your country is famous for tequila, might as well show this.
For those of you who can't read the sign, it says, "I can Has CheezBurger?" No, I'm just joking, it is the world's largest tequila collection.

And I did mention tacos earlier right? Here's a sample of the tacos that I had while in Mexico. Seeing as I am not a taco fan and never occasionally had a taco or two, I can't compare this taco eating experience with a past one, although the reviews for the tacos that we had were superb on the Internet.
The tacos that I had. Mostly pork, with cheese and one of them has flour tortilla.

After the beaches and eating, the ruins are not to be forgotten. The ruins were at first the basis for the whole going to Mexico thing, so to not visit the ruins would make the trip incomplete. Along the way, the van that we took stopped by a souvenir shop, letting us shop around.
Like this chess set. Never took a fancy for them, because I couldn't really differentiate all the pieces. All in all, every pieces looks like a block of stone, with different carvings.

And yes, the great temple of the Mayan ruins. Gotta take a photo there. Apparently, tourists were allowed to go up the stairs until 5 years ago, when somebody fell down those stairs and died. So after that, we can only see it from ground level. Sheesh~ one guy falls and ruins it for the rest of us.
Yes, that's me, and yes, I got fat. 'nuff said.

We got a tour guide to explain it to us also, about the buildings, what they were used for, how old are they, history of the Mayans, etc.
Yup, that's our tour guide. Favourite phrase, "Alright my friends..."

After the ruins, well, we pretty much saw everything that we wanted. We saw the beaches, we saw the ruins, we ate the food. We also went snorkelling, which to me, ain't that nice after my Redang trip. The fishes were dull looking. However, we did see stingrays, big ones, live ones, the ones that can kill. LoL, just joking.

And one final picture, two girls went to get their hair braided. After that, they were known as the predator sisters. Here's a look of the hair one completed. Looks a bit like some pattern on a soccer ball.

Last note of the trip, 7 out of the 9 people that were on the trip suffered diarrhoea, stomach cramps(?) headaches. The trip was fun for me since I'm not one of the nine. Heh~

That's all about the trip. Adiós!
